A Grand Opening Message to Our Customers
BigTimeFlies hatched out of our retail storefront, Pacific Fly Fishers (Est. 2004), located in Washington State. We outfit anglers fishing all over the globe, and while selling rods and reels is a lot of fun, diving in deep to help someone fill a fly box is not only a thrill but is of upmost importance. We often forget about the smallest yet most important detail. Flies, we have a passion for flies, from the smallest midge to bass poppers to marlin teasers. We have fished it, we have outfitted for it, and we have a fly for it. Four employees with decades and decades of experience across a vast area of the sport, BigTimeFlies strives to bring you the industry’s highest quality flies by the best and most reputable companies in the world. Each pattern is hand selected from four major criteria:
- Design and quality of tie
- Popularity in the market
- Effectiveness in fishing scenarios
- Do we feel good about selling the pattern?
If a pattern meets the above criteria, it is ordered, and inspected (and hopefully even fished). If everything looks good and the new fly pattern passes, it is added to the catalog.
Through our social media and blog posts you will often see images of flies in use. We welcome you to submit how a BigTimeFlies pattern worked for you… even if it’s hanging out of a cattail behind you.
Under no circumstance will we sell any fly that does not meet our standards. Poorly tied flies and cheap imitations are flooding the market daily. We do not sell low quality flies in our store or online. While our prices are fair and competitive, we do not have a $0.99 option. A quality fly is not worth $0.99. We sell varsity flies… We sell BigTimeFlies!
To name a few fly manufacturing companies we work with, we stock flies from Umpqua Feather Merchants, Solitude Fly Co., Rainy’s, Fulling Mill, JD Flies, RIO and our own custom flies.
Our offering is impressive and will continue to grow. It is quite the task to categorize and inventory so many products. Our inventory is live, and it is our top priority to ship orders the same day or next business day if placed after hours.
